Acoustic Techno… two words I never thought I would hear in the same sentence. Brandt Brauer Frick set out to put just those two words together and they’ve done it magnificently. Besides a Moog, every sound is meticulously created through a live instrument. Hearing and seeing these guys recreate with live instruments a genre that is attributed to being very mechanical is amazing. You must see them live!
Brandt Brauer Frick make their US debut tonight at the Lincoln Center Bandshell. Don’t be fooled by the fact that the show is at Lincoln Center or that they have an ‘ensemble.’ It might look like you are going to the orchestra, but when these guys play live you’ll feel like you are at a proper minimalist techno show.
