Here’s a mini compilation of some new discoveries over here at The New LoFi. While not all of these artist are brand spanking new, the sound seems to be fresh.
Camel Power Club – Laika
Leo and Gautier are the two crafty French dudes behind Camel Power Club. Their first EP entitled “Sputnik” is a light hearted 4 track album. All the tracks are anchored by slightly electronic percussion but the melodies are brought to life in a variation of ways. A moaning slide guitar here, a boys choir there, all the while keeping a chin up.
Their latest single “Laika” builds on the “Sputnik” theme (it’s named after Laika, the first ever dog to orbit the earth in space). Check it out and keep your ear on these two for more awesomeness.
Oh Land – Little Things
Our favorite Danish singer songwriter Nanna Fabricius from Oh Land is back with a huge new single called “Little Things.” Check out this single and more from Oh Land on their new album Earth Sick.
Rubblebucket – Rewind
Rubblebucket first came together early 2000s when Alex Toth (trumpet, band leader) and Kalmia Traver (vocals, saxophone) met in school. After they graduated in 2006, they joined the reggae group John Brown’s Body and began touring the U.S.
Check out “Rewind” on their latest album entitled Survival Sounds
