Moncrieff’s single “In My Room” captures the struggles of children self-isolating in difficult conditions
“My quarantine anxiety over 4 chords.” That’s how the Irish producer Moncrieff describes his new single “In My Room.” As an observational lyricist, Moncreiff is able to capture the overwhelming sense of collective helplessness during this time of lockdown and uncertainty. It’s a heartfelt song that contrasts isolation and the shared experience of a global pandemic.
The track is particularly poignant when it comes to describing the situation that some individuals in difficult conditions must be experiencing. Many of us complain about the fact that we can’t go out and socialize as the biggest challenge during the pandemic, but we forget about the people who are locked down with people they either don’t get along with or are downright hostile towards.
The accompanying video brings the content of the song into sharp focus with its depiction of gas masks, human greed and isolation. Take a look at the full music video below.
All proceeds of “In My Room” will be donated to the ISPCC Childline — an organization with a mission to help support young people struggling with mental health.
