Rohne explores the more extroverted side of his sound on his second album: Forms

We first heard about Keenan Branch (the Portland-based producer behind Rohne) when he released a few new singles earlier this year. But I think it is important to take a moment and step back to listen to where Branch began.

For his debut release, Meridian, Branch was largely inspired by worldly travels and capturing ideas on the move. The eight track album was the result of traveling the world for two years with a field recorder. Days of isolation outdoors combined with time spent alone in the studio made up the foundation to explore his love of philosophy and the boundaries of creativity.

Now nearly three years since his debut, Branch has released his second album called Forms — the blooming of a bond between his art, and the world around him. Drawing influences from a wide range of genres, the record acts as a gentle departure from his debut release, and the start down a long road of sonic exploration.

Head over to the Rohne bandcamp page to stream all 9 tracks of Forms in full. And if you like what you hear, I’d urge you to help support the album in vinyl. Branch has launched a crowd funding campaign on Qrates to create a limited run of Forms in a beautiful grey vinyl. They need to sell 75 more records to get the project off the ground. Head to the project page to place an order for one here.
