Effortless summer indie from Dutch producers, Silver Lake

Okay, okay, maybe the second single off of Dutch duo, Silver Lake, doesn’t immediately strike you as a ‘summer song’ in the traditional sense, but for me, the seaside, surf rock vibes come through in a vintage pop sort of way.

Silver Lake describe their new single ‘Violet’ as a “kind of dark shadow version of yourself.” The version you embody on days when all color seems to have disappeared from the world. But the song’s main message is the importance of the human capacity to turn around negative spirals. And that sounds pretty summery to me.
