Cumbanchero

Ever since traveling to South America I’ve been in love with the folk music of Colombia called “Cumbia.” It has a great mix of African and Latin sounds and usually includes a simple shaker for percussion and a flute or accordion for melody.

On their track “Cumbanchero,” Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel team up with Graham Mushik to bring you a psychedelic Venezuelan Cumbia that is infectious. “Cumbanchero” literally means “bravo combination.” It usually refers to someone how is of both Spanish and South American descent. In this case, I think it might be describing the fantastic combination of latin and afro Cumbia.
