Fresh Friday Mix: It’s Overture
Its Overture is a DJ duo (Macabee & RiVerse) from NYC. My friend Dani has been putting me onto their mixes for a couple of years now and I’ve always said I need to put one of them up on the site. These guys are truly masters of the mash-up. They’re able to blend, remix, and mashup all types of different genres of music, old and new, to make something fresh each time. This mix, “A Night From Concentrate,” is an attempt to distill a night out into a 30 minute mix. “A number of times on this mix we literally create a dialogue of sorts between the two tracks we’re mixing, which is something we like to do whenever possible.” This is mash-up at it’s most witty.
