July 2018 Mixtape
We’re starting off the July Mixtape with some soulful Summer sounds. Kali Uchis joins Tyler, The Creator and Bootsy Collins for her new track “After The Storm” to kick off the mix. Kiefer hits us with back to back tracks and the mix takes a turn towards jazz for some time with new singles from Leon Vynehall, Jean Grae, Quelle Chris and Best Friend.
Towards the halfway mark, the mixtape leans into some electronic music with a few selections from Chillwave Wednesday. Then we go full house with new singles from Disclosure, Moullinex, Dalton John and an absolutely sick PAX remix of MGMT’s track “Electric Feel.”
The mix ends with a very interesting cover of the Talking Heads track “Once In A Lifetime” by Angelique Kidjo. Kidjo puts a summery West African spin on the track and turns it into something you’d never expect.
