Introducing Bytz

Greets, New LoFiers! I’ve been graciously invited to contribute to this wonderful blog, and to kick it all off, here’s a little introduction:

My name is Myroslaw Bytz, and I’m not only a member, I’m also an artist. Since the late-90s, I’ve been producing electronic music, hip-hop and digital experiments, as well as scoring several short films. You can hear a selection of my own music above or over at SoundCloud. What I hope to bring to the table are highlights of up-and-coming elecronic and acoustic musicians from all over the world, who are on the cutting edge of such styles as dub reggae, dubstep, dub techno, ambient dub, moombahdub and dub electro. The sharpest among you may start to see a pattern here; my three loves reside in all things dub, all things electronic, and all things soulful, from the timeless ethnic folkways of the world to the future-retro hauntologies now emerging in our most digitally-saturated cultures.

I will be posting some exclusive mixes in the future, but for now, here is one I crafted for WNSR: New School Radio, that I think typifies and draws together the styles I’ll be bringing to your ears. Download, soak it up, enjoy, and let me know what you think in the comments section!
