Retro Kid’s new EP is a IYKYK indie electronica love letter to new parents
Just got passed the new track from Jake Juba (aka Retro Kid), and I’m loving the vibe. If you’re not familiar with Retro Kid, he’s UK-born electronic producer based in the small Danish village of Ledøje. His new EP, Do It Like This, takes inspiration from his home studio life and being a dad.
The latest track off the EP, “Found You,” was written about those rare proper nights out (for a parent). The kind of night that slips past routines. Those kind of nights where you hold a midnight kebab in one hand and a banging IPA in the other.
The track is playful and warm. It captures the feeling of finding your old self, while quietly remembering that things have changed, and that tomorrow’s hangover is coming for you….
