Swingin’ Party

We first discovered English producer Kindness in a #runninglikehellfrommonday post nearly two years ago. As time has gone by, we haven’t given him much more attention on this website, but I can assure you that I’ve been silently praising him ever since. His genius comes into focus the more you listen to this East London based producer. Each song on his album is completely original: unrelated to the track before or after it. The compositions are very dynamic: starting off with one type of sound and ending with a completely new one. Basically: he’s makes some kick-ass music.

Then, just last week, I came across this fantastic cover of a Kindness track The Replacements track by another fantastic artist: Lorde. She’s taken Kindness’s single “Swingin’ Party” and created an organ fueled slow burner. Including both versions below for your review.

(Edit: The kindness version is actually a cover of The Replacements song “Swingin Party.” So Lorde is covering the cover?)
