Swiss producer, Giorgio Fazio gives Hudson Mohawke the jungle treatment

This blog was born in Brooklyn during the SoundCloud era — an era that was shaped by artists who were blazing a new trail and taking back control from corporate record companies. Artists like Hudson Mohawke.

So when Swiss producer, Giorgio Fazio, sent me a remix of Hudson Mohawke’s 2009 single, “FUSE,” I was very curious to see if it was possible improve the raw nostalgic energy of the original.

“I picked FUSE because when I first heard it, it felt like the future,” explains Fazio when talking about his unofficial jungle reinterpretation of “FUSE.” “I’ve always loved jungle and its tension, so I tried blending that with more natural textures like flute and jazz elements. I wasn’t aiming to reinvent anything, especially not a track as iconic as ‘FUSE.’ It was just a personal experiment, a way to play with ideas I care about.”
