The New LoFi

Ten Years

Catalina is the musical project of Jakob Shaw and Eric Poretsky, bring a calmness and simplicity to the indie rock world with their new track “Alvarado.”

A groovy baseline, soft drums, and delicate synth create an atmospheric sound while silvery vocals carry the track to new heights. It’s a song about chasing time and never completely being fulfilled with where you are in life. The lines “now that I finally got what I came for, I’ll trade my pleasure for something less painful” is a beautiful sentiment of never reaching contentment. While we may constantly be seeking what we don’t have, do yourself a favor and bask in the beauty of “Alvarado.”
