This song has a chorus that you can literally feel in your gut. You know, the kind you find yourself randomly belting out, and as if it came from your own life’s story. Gotye’s lyrics to “Somebody That I Used To Know” really got me, especially after a few good listens. He so simply, yet beautifully translates his raw emotion over a break up in the most resonating way. The addition of Kimbra on this track is just an added bonus.
