Global Citizen Live: Emeli Sande, Little Simz & more

International advocacy organisation Global Citizen announced today that Lady Leshurr, Kojo Funds, and New Lofi favourite Little Simz will perform at  Global Citizen Live London, with Maya Jama,  Adwoa Aboah, Ade Adepitan, and DJ Neev set to appear as hosts. The free-ticketed event will take place on Tuesday, 17 April at the O2 Academy Brixton, and includes previously announced performers Emeli Sandé, Professor Green, Naughty Boy, Gabrielle Aplin, Luisa Omielan, and Hussain Manawer.

The ballot for tickets has now closed, but you can still catch all of the acts from Tuesday night through a livestream of the event on their website. The New Lofi will be in attendance, and you can follow all the action on our Instagram & Twitter.

As hosts and performers, the artists will join thousands of Global Citizens who are demanding Commonwealth leaders honour Mandela’s legacy and make major investments to end extreme poverty by supporting women and girls, ensuring legal gender equity, providing access to education for children in crises, ending modern slavery, and eradicating diseases including polio, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.

Since the first Global Citizen Festival held in New York in 2012, Global Citizen has grown into one of the largest, most visible platforms for young people around the world calling for an end to extreme poverty. Global Citizen has since taken its action-based model to Australia, Canada, India, and Germany.
