Heavy Rotation: from upbeat indie-house to melodic ambient, some of our favorite electronic music

Here’s a round-up of our favorite electronic music sent to the blog recently. This is all the electronic music that has been on heavy rotation here at TNLF HQ. If you like the vibe, check out the full playlist on Spotify.

Mini Sants – Dancing With A Ghost (Sunsets Remix)

This year Mini Sants has come across our radar in big way. The Brooklyn-based DJ and producer has consitently delivered up indie electronic music that takes inspiration from both the indie-dance and disco scenes. This month his music is scene through a West-Coast lens with a new remix from Sunsets — the Mexican-American producer based in San Diego. And “sunsets” couldn’t be a more fitting moniker. His music takes listeners to where the sand meets the dance floor with his funky-upbeat remix of Mini Sants’ “Dancing With A Ghost.” Check it out:

808 BEACH x BELLE HUMBLE – Here’s Where The Story Ends

808 Beach and Belle Humble team up here to create a bouncy reinterpretation of a 90s classic. When talking about creating the track, Bill Coleman of 808 BEACH says: “The Sundays are one of my favorite bands ever. Their 1990 debut album, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic is an undisputed alternative bliss pop classic.” I couldn’t agree more Bill.

Morggan – Tightrope

North Carolina-based producer Morggan has just released his new 2LP vinyl (entitled Tightrope) and it is an emotive, club-focused album with an indie-house twist. The title track on the album is a lowkey banger, but you should def check out the full record. The album’s opener, “Solace,” also a winner.

Dexter Troy – Sunset Boat (Extended Mix)

Another name that has been on heavy rotation as of late is Swiss DJ and producer, Dexter Troy. Despite having been on the scene for more than twenty years, Troy’s sound feels both classic and future-facing all at once. He has this uncanny skill at blending the warmth of house with the funk of disco. And that is true with his new single, “Sunset Boat.”

Wandour – Echoes of a Rainfall

The third single from Wandour’s forthcoming album Echoterrium, “Echoes of a Rainfall,” further explores his signature fusion of real-world field recordings, obscure cassette loops, and vintage analog synth textures to revive the exact emotions tied to forgotten moments. This track centers on rain as a powerful trigger for memory, spanning from romantic intensity of tropical downpours, the serene grandeur of light rain falling on a misty mountaintop, to the carefree joy of childhood play in summer rains.

BIDO – Feels Right (Extended Mix)

This new Bido track pulls together deep house and a crunchy bassline to create a nice little underground indie house cut.

CŒUR ACIDE – LET’S SWEAT

CŒUR ACIDE are a mysterious electronic duo that channel late ’80s and early ’90s club glamour through music, art, and fashion. For their latest single, they want us to sweat!

ZDEPTH – Stuck Inside (Radio Edit)

Bulgarian DJ and producer hits us with his new single “Stuck Inside” that incorporates elements of deep house, atmospheric, funky and hypnotic. And that beat!

Dumomi The Jig – Tonight

Nigeria-born British producer Adenuga Adedumomi (aka Dumomi The Jig) has an art for pulling out the emotion in music. For his new R&B-infused electornic single, “Tonight,” he brings all of that to bear.

il:lo – Iraya

Located somewhere between Paris and Berlin, French producers Dejan Dejado and Andreas Schütz (aka il:lo) have carved out a distinct sonic niche. It’s a sound that is grounded with a house beat but is elevated to something that is ethereal. Their msuic acheives a seamless fusion of downtempo softness and expansive trance energy. This month the duo returns with “Iraya,” a track that leans into a darker, more hypnotic magnetism.

Pjeterr – All Night Long

Dutch producer Pjeterr is a master at creating a hyptonic grooves that you can get lost in. His new single, “All Night Long,” is a disco house track that pulls you into a warm, spacious world of sound. Think classic house vibes with a modern, atmospheric edge.

2ŁØT – Die Empty

2ŁØT (a shortening of the “2nd Law of Thermodynamics”) is a five-peice band that ties together a range of influences from electronic and jazz, to hip hop, rock, and soul.

Their latest single, “Die Empty,” is a hypnotic groove with minimal vocals and haunting textures. It’s largely instrumental, but it builds tension through atmosphere and rhythm. It’s the kind of song that lives in its atmosphere – steady, immersive, and hard to shake.

Carter Fox – 2099

Now for something altogether different. The new single from Carter Fox. His style of ‘chill-fi’ music is inspired by a passion for astronomy and a deep love for video games. On his new single, “2099,” Fox brings forward his own styles and tastes of jazz, blues, and rock, combining it with downtempo and electronic elements to create the unique sound that he is known for in the industry today.

Chroma Glow x Drozax – Restore I

As we wind down the mix, let’s now step into something entierly more ambient. It’s a new chillwave track from Chroma Glow and Drozax called “Restore I.” And restorative it is. It’s like the soundtrack to a videogame about flying on clouds.

Jäverling ◇ von Euler – Sekvenser

This month, we’ll round out the rotation with a very laid-back new ambient track from Henrik von Euler and Rickard Jäverling (aka Jäverling ◇ von Euler). The track is called “Sekvenser” (or “Sequences” in Swedish) and it washes over you with a beautifully slow and melodic wave. What a perfect way to finish off the mix.
