Last time we caught up with Micah Smith (aka Goose Down), it was during the release of his off-kilter indie house album, Material Needs. This month the LA-based producer is back with some richly layered left-field cuts on his new EP, Terroir. Tracks like “Hot Bread” and the title track “Terroir” stand out for their rubbery basslines and swaggering dusty grooves.
The EP sits somewhere between deep house, broken beat, and some kind of hazy disco-funk.
