Kitty Pryde claims that she is a part of the Shit-Hop movement on her Facebook page, but I think she fits somewhere in between trip-hop and PBR&B. Imagine Frank Ocean has a baby with Rebecca Black’s Adderall snorting older sister (haha j/k …kinda).
She’s the ever-giggling laid back rapper chick who delivers lines with a deadpan wit that is irresistible for card carrying hipsters everywhere. She’s like nerdy and creepy at the same time, but still has a gangster edge dressed up in hipster clothes. (Even her mom’s cool @mamapryde: “iced tea fan and proud mama of kitty pryde” or “Can’t find my mop so…here I am” …hilarious).
After the release of her video for Okay Cupid Kitty Pryde has been ascending as the princess of hipster R&B / hip-hop and I’m pretty sure she’s going to be there to stay. Go download her EP Haha, I’m Sorry on bandcamp and throw her some love on her Facebook page.
