LA-based percussionist and producer Te’Amir takes you on a journey with his album “Abyssinia & Abyssinia Rise”

For the past few years, Te’Amir Sweeney has toured and recorded with soul singer Aloe Blacc and his brother Tutu Sweeney. Te’Amir has played with many of the musicians who have helped craft LA’s unique brand of hip-hop, and jazz including artists like: Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Kamasi Washington, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Wondem, Kadhja Bonet, and Ethio-Cali. As a producer, he has self-released four albums to which “Abyssinia & Abyssinia Rise” is his latest.

The album is filled with xylophones, wandering harps, north African strings, and a sense of percussion centered around jazz and soul that all add up to an extremely unique and eclectic recording. Below are two of my favorite singles off of Abyssinia & Abyssinia Rise
