Slim Smith

Reggae makes people feel good. There is little to debate about that statement. The unfortunate thing is that 93% of people go for Bob Marley’s Legend when they want to kick it Jamaica style. I’ve been on this mission of hunting and digging for reggae that has either been forgotten or simple overlooked by most reggae dabblers. About 3 months ago I came across a series called “The Essential (Enter Artist Name here) and Dubs” Collection. I don’t know anything about who or what this “Essential Dubs” is . . . either way this stuff is great. There are 9 of these collections out there that I’ve found so far.

The Essential . . . .
Delroy Wilson & Dubs
Don Carlos & Dubs
Johnny Clarke & Dubs
John Holt & Dubs
Dillinger & Dubs
Linval Thompson & Dubs
Barry Brown & Dubs
Cornell & Dubs
Slim Smith & Dubs

From all of these, I’ve mostly been listening to the Slim Smith & Dubs. This guy has such a great voice. Check out Will You Still Love Me below. You can also listen to all 9 of the albums above on Spotify is you’re a member.
