The Strokes Reunion (Lollapalooza Live Set)
It’s true. The Strokes are back together; well, kind of. They recently reunited at Lollapalooza 2010 after being on an unofficial hiatus since 2006. Their first U.S. set in “like-forever” drew a respectable crowd, especially considering that Lady Gaga was on at the same time.
Julian Casablancas and crew pulled their set together largely from The Strokes 2001 debut “This Is it”. They opened with “New York City Cops”, a track that was yanked from This Is It just before its release. Yes, it would’ve been great if Jack White joined them again for New York City Cops but you can’t have it all! (In August 2002, the band played at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on a bill with The White Stripes, where Jack White joined the band to play guitar on New York City Cops.)
