TOLEDO’s new single “FOMO” pokes fun at the quarantine routine we have all started to fall into during lockdown
We first came across the indie duo, TOLEDO back in 2018 when they released their EP Hotstuff. With that EP, Daniel and Jordan quickly established themselves as champions of laid-back summer surf rock.
But this summer isn’t like most summers. We are all locked in our houses and socializing is against the rules. So some might think that summer surf rock doesn’t have any place in our lives this summer.
Those people would be wrong. This is just the kind of sun-drenched indie music we need to stay positive.
TOLEDO’s new single “FOMO” pokes fun at the quarantine routine we have all started to fall into over the last few months.
“This is the first song we wrote and recorded while quarantined together in our hometown of Newburyport, Massachusetts,” explains Daniel when talking about the album. “Every morning started the same: a very brief meditation and a short session of Yoga… The resulting mindfulness was usually short-lived and followed by late nights of drinking and Buffy reruns.”
But in a very lighthearted way, the song delivers a very important underlying message: stay present. Try not to worry and appreciate the sights, smells, sounds and flavors that you have around you at this moment.
