We No Speak Americano On Thursday
I wish I could say I knew more about Renato Carosone. But I don’t. I could regurgitate what I read off a Wiki page into some witty paraphrased music blog commentary. I could take a wild guess from looking at his picture and say that he is some suave cuban big band swinger from the 30’s. But that wouldn’t ring true.
The truth is that I heard this “Yolanda Be Cool” version of this Renato Caroso song and I was hooked. It’s super catchy. It has a clipped horn sample, it has an old Italian dude crooning, and it even has a little bit of a swing to it. Some might say that is all you need.
