The Orwells
Insert expletive here!!!!! We once talked about doing a CMJ showcase. Maybe one day we’ll still do it but Aquarium Drunkard is doing one this year and this line up includes a lot of stuff I’m listening to right now. Since we aren’t doing a showcase this year, the AD show might me the next best thing.
Among the bands in the AD lineup are The Orwells from Elmhurst, Illinois. Other than being an upcoming band to watch, another thing to note is that the guys in The Orwells are 17 years old. Speaking of their self released first album Remember when, they said “It was big in our high school for two weeks, then it died out”. That sounds pretty funny considering they’re now playing CMJ. Since we can’t add them to our showcase this year, I’m at least making In My Bed our song of the day. Check out The Orwells tonight at the Mercury Lounge. Details below:
