Alabama based duo, BoomBox, announce 6th studio album: “Dangerous Waters”

Founded in Alabama in the early 2000s, BoomBox was started by singer / songwriter Zion Rock Godchaux. Kinsman MacKay, Godchaux’s brother, provides the beat to compliment the electric guitar riffs and topline vocal. The result is a back-beat driven style, wrapped around some smooth vocals and original lyrics. Their songs pull from a wide range of genres to cultivate a fusion of music that appeals to a broad audience. “The sound is about pulling from anything that you’d hear coming out of a boombox, and distilling it into a distinctive style,” explains Godchaux when talking about their music.

Last month, BoomBox announced their 6th studio album, Dangerous Waters, which is set to drop November 10th. For a sneak peak of what to expect from the album, the duo just leaked the lead single entitled “Buenas Noches.” The track includes a rumbling bass line, quirky electronic stabs and a funky guitar interlude provide the perfect backdrop for Zion Rock Godchaux’s effortlessly delivered vocals.

Have a listen to “Buenas Noches” below and keep and eye out for Dangerous Waters early next month.
