I’ve been looking through a lot of “old” music lately. Music that I’ve loved in the past but have completely forgotten about. It’s funny how even though you once were familiar with a song, the meaning changes after a while. Back in high school, I listened to so much cheesy pop/R&B. I’m talking Usher, Ciara, Lil Wayne…the works. I usually scoff at my music taste back then but to be honest, I still kind of love some of that shit. What can I say? Some of it’s good.

Miguel is an extremely talented musician and has made quite a name for himself. You’ve got to be in the right mood but his second album Kaleidoscope Dream, is full of creative love songs and stuff that makes you wanna dance. Simple as that. I just rediscovered “Girl With The Tattoo”, a short acapella song from his first album and can’t stop playing it tonight. It’s currently 3:22 am right now. This song pairs nicely with insomnia, just in case it hits ya one day and you need to jam out to some night music.  I think it’s a little under the radar so hopefully you haven’t heard it. He kills it with this one. Raw honesty and heartfelt emotion.
