R&B, hip-hop, indie electronic — Khi Infinite blends genres for his new single, “LUCY”

Khi Infinite has just announced his upcoming second album, “Take What You Need” — set to release early next month. To tease the album, the 19 year-old Virginia native dropped the first single off the album this week. It’s called “LUCY” and it tells a story about his battle with love and the addiction he has to a relationship which, for some reason, he just can’t seem to move on from.

For the video, Khi is seen trapped in a sort of upside-down Truman’s World running from his demons.

The sound that Khi creates on “LUCY” cleverly mixes R&B and hip-hop influences with indie and psychedelic house vibes. Imagine Mos Def rapping over an MGMT track. And that versatility can be seen across Khi’s growing catalogue of music. He refuses to be pinned down to just one genre.

Stream “LUCY” below and look out for the new album “Take What You Need” sometime early next month. 50% of the first month royalties will be donated to homeless shelters in Khi’s local community of Virginia Beach.
