The upcoming album from City of the Sun brings desert winds and tropical nights to New York City

New York’s City of the Sun is a worldly, genre-bending acoustic band based out in Brooklyn. But you wouldn’t know that from listening to their music. It’s instrumental music with a language of its own. A language that speaks of the desert and finds best nike running shoes it soul in Latin America.

I first came across the band in 2023 when I heard their album Segunda Alma — an album that taps into the rhythmic fire of guitarist John PIta’s Ecuadorian roots. The album carries echoes of desert winds, tropical nights, and the quiet glow of loss and transformation. That album, and all of their music feels both intimate and cinematic.

This month we were sent a couple of new singles that will appear on their upcoming album, Under The Moon (due out April 24th). Preview the two new singles below. If you like what you hear, head over to Nettwerk Records to pre-order Under The Moon now.
