“First Light” — the new ambient electronic single from Berlin-based producer, Theatre Of Delays
The Berlin-based producer, Theatre Of Delays, has been a favorite producer of ours ever since he appeared on our radar 12 years ago. At first it was his remixes of well known tracks from artists like Portishead, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Massive Attack. He even did a cheeky remix of a John Carpenter’s composition of “Night.”

Around the early 2010s, Theatre Of Delays started coming out with his own original compositions. His single, “Black Ballet” particularly caught my attention. After releasing several originals, Theatre Of Delays pivoted again, now taking a dramatic atmospheric turn. His music took a dive deep into the realms of ambient, noise, and drone. Last time we heard from TOD was about five years ago when he released his LP: Day One.
Now he’s back with a few new singles (and hopefully an upcoming new album) that fuse gossamer ambient textures with subtly distorted rhythms. It’s a sound that exists in the liminal space between beat and atmosphere; an exploration of electronic music’s vast nike air huarache drift black ah7335 001 potential.
Check out “First Light” below — a melancholic ambient journey that unfolds with a gentle type of grace. And keep your ears out for what is next to come our way from the theatre of delay.
