Bronze Whale returns to instrumental music with their new single, “Opposites”
If you aren’t familiar with the Austin, Texas-based duo, Bronze Whale (Aaron Jaques and Benny Alley), then you should know that they began their journey together in the winter of 2011. In those early days, cutting their teeth on high profile remixes, the duo quickly gained notoriety as new voices in the industry.
In 2018 the guys felt like their music needed something more. This led to them discovering their love for singing and songwriting and thus creating a whole new sound. This new style effortlessly blended Benny’s chill vocals, along with indie-electronic elements and hip-hop percussion.
We last caught up with Bronze Whale back in 2016 when they teamed up with vocalist Khai for their single, “Love To Feel.” Last week the duo passed us their new single, “Opposites,” and it takes their sound in a new direction.
“We were both born and raised in Austin, Texas,” Benny explains when talking about their new single. “A few years ago, Aaron moved to Sacramento, creating new challenges and opportunities for how we write music. Every few months we get back together to finish music in person, and to do one of our favorite things, start new songs. ‘Opposites’ came from one of these recent trips. A late night, a few drinks, and us wanting to write exactly what we were feeling. Opposites’ is our dive back into instrumental music, and a nod to some of those instrumental artists that helped form us.”
