Helado Negro Canta Lechuza
Helado Negro released an amazing follow up to to their 2009 release Awe Owl on Asthmatic Kitty today. The new album Canta Lechuza is a successful example of rich contradiction, juxtaposing the old and new, blips, bleeps, distortion and echoes against traditional sounding latin vocals and acoustic instruments all filtered through a lo-fi electrostatic dream maker machine.
This album is one of the most interesting and mysterious albums I’ve heard in a really long time. Do yourself a favor and check out the songs below, then snatch up the album on bandcamp for $8. It’ll be the best $8 you spend this year.
Cheers,
D-Hall
