I like my dance music to be surreal and psychedelic — South African producer, El Payo, reworks Sharky’s new single “Memories Of Vortex”
Georgia Mason (aka Sharky) has been steadily releasing music with her husband Todd Speakman for a couple years now. Her music has had support from the likes of Lauren Laverne, Sian Eleri, Jamz Supernova and Don Letts. Her debut album, People Are Strange, was released late last year on Tru Thoughts. The record is the result of Mason and Speakman being stuck in their London flat over lockdown. It’s a musical conversation and a shared understanding between the two producers. It brings to life a world of colourful surrealism that combines soul, hip hop, and indie.
Last month, South African producer, El Payo, released a remix of on of the lead singles on People Are Strange. The track is called “Memories Of Vortex” and El Payo reworks the track into a psychedelic dance floor pleaser with a touch of nu-jazz flavour.
