Poindexter, pays homage to golden age of hip hop with his new single, “Zeitgeist”
Poindexter is a rising hip hop star based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. While he’s been experimenting in the Midwest creative scene for a while, this year he’s decided to distill his style into consistent sound with the launch of his upcoming underground mixtape, “New Testa.”
To tease the mixtape, Poindexter has leaked his first single, entitled “Zeitgeist,” which takes a nostalgic tour through old-school hip hop. The track features a 90s snare and a classic beat to lay the foundation for his swaggering lyrical flow. The result is a track that pays homage to the golden age of hip hop with a cheeky nod to the future.
To compliment the new single, Poindexter has teamed up with producer TeeWatt and Ukrainian director and editor, Blindcapvision, to add a trippy visual layer to the music. Check out the music video below and keep your ears open for the new mixtape, New Testa, which is set later this month.
