Nadia Lee Cohen creates a surreal new world of cops and robbers for A$AP Rocky’s new video “Babushka Boi”
For his “Babushka Boi” video, A$AP Rocky enlists British photographer, and filmmaker Nadia Lee Cohen. The video puts Cohen’s surreal filter on a world air jordan 4 thunder 2023 where 1950s-esque Chicago mobsters go to war with the police. The mob is made up of A$AP Rocky and his crew: Schoolboy Q, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Nast, and Kamil Abbas. The police are a band of slow fat pigs.

You can see Cohen’s roots as a photographer throughout the film with the way every scene is beautifully framed and captured. Each scene is like a photo. And the characters, while based in reality, are caricatures of themselves. Faces are distorted and cartoonized while the colors and costumes are bright and hyper-real.
