The Big Moon: Cupid

thebigmoon

Female musicians get a lot of shit thrown at them.

Oh sorry, I wasn’t making social commentary, rather I was providing some narration to London based garage rockers The Big Moon and their new video for ‘Cupid’. The anthemic single is splattered with swagger, as lead singer Juliette Jackson and company effortlessly shred their way into our hearts. The video itself is a riot: “We thought we’d give our friends the opportunity of a lifetime and let them hurl things at us while we tried to unflinchingly play the song. We spent the day having paint and flour and glitter and playing cards and plants and plastic forks and teddy bears and sponges thrown at us. I think it was quite a cathartic experience for everyone involved.”

Their debut EP was uploaded piecemeal onto soundcloud a few weeks ago and is dripping with window-rattling riffs and Jackson’s soon-to-be-signature dulcet delivery. The Big Moon are set to become stars, so steal a listen and tell your friends.
