Way Yes Remixed by Larry Gus

Today’s Song of The Day is the Larry Gus Remix of Gino by Way Yes.

I stumbled upon Way Yes a few weeks ago while looking into CMJ 2012 bands. Their latest 5 track EP Walkability is a fun mix of filtered vocals, playful guitar riffs, heavy reverb, African polyrhythm and ethereal electronic elements. Formed in Columbus, Ohio in early 2010, Way Yes sets out to make music about good times, or at least making it through the bad times. Although only 5 tracks long, Way Yes proves that even though they are making music about fun, they are very serious about how they go about that music. The songs are well crafted, diverse and contain a complexity that’s somewhat unexpected from an otherwise quirky band. This EP is one of this years must haves. As a bonus, they include a remix of each track as well. Those remixes take this already standout EP to a whole new level.

Larry Gus is from Greece but currently based out of Milan. I haven’t been able to find much info on him yet but read more below for additional Larry Gus remixes.
