The Black Rabbits
The Black Rabbits are a four-piece Florida band with some serious momentum behind them. I won’t recap their whole band history but let’s just say Billy Chapin and Stan Lynch of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers produced both their first EP and the brand spanking new LP Hypno Switch. I’m not sure how they hooked up with them but it says a lot about the quality of the finished products and also the quality of the music in general. Billy and Stan aren’t going to work with just anyone.
The Black Rabbits play straight up rock and roll. There aren’t any tricks to the music, just good fucking tunes, great sounding guitars, drums and vocals and lots of hooks; LOTS OF HOOKS. Their sound is raw, yet has a polished finesse to it.
Hypno Switch is out on Rock Ridge Records (Newark, NJ) and available in all of the regular spots, iTunes, Amazon, etc. The first single is My Baby which you can check out below. If you’re in New York City this Thursday, check the band out at The Rockwood Music Hall at 196 Allen Street.
