Nick AM Remixes Talagh by The Persian Madonna
Faegheh Atashin — better known by her stage name Googoosh or the “Persian Madonna” — is an Iranian singer and actress popular in the 50s, 60s and 70s. This pre-revolutionary Iran saw a renaissance of psychedelic rock. Googoosh dabbled in the genre with songs like “Talagh” (Divorce).
Iranian American producer, Nick AM, pays homage to Googoosh in his new remix of the track “I just dropped this funky edit of a classic 70’s song by the Persian Madonna, Googoosh,” explains the Brooklyn-based artist. “My friends have been urging me to tap into my heritage for a while now, and I finally succumbed.” I think I speak for everyone when I say that we are glad he did.
