Jenny Mascia’s art direction creates a monochrome world for Thom Yorke’s new video: “Last I Heard”
Last month Thom Yorke commissioned Art Camp and Saad Moosajee to direct the video for his new single, “Last I Heard (…He Was Circling the Drain).” It’s the second single off of his new album, ANIMA and it is a track that builds and builds and builds. The song makes you feel like you are being blasted out into space.
What was so captivating about the video for me was Jenny Mascia’s art direction. She’s created a monochrome world of swirling silvers and dusty shades of blacks that makes you feel like you are in some sort of cosmic dream state. The visuals have become inseparable to the sound now that I’ve seen the video. I can’t picture the song looking any other way.
Check out the video below and grab your copy of ANIMA on vinyl (if you know what’s good for you).
