For centuries explorers have searched the world over for the lost kingdom of El Dorado, a land believed to have streets paved with gold, layered with lakes of fresh water and green jungles – a land so beautiful you would never want to leave.
The mystical kingdom of El Dorado might not exist in reality but for regular people like us, we have festival season. At the beginning of the summer, some of us seek refuge away from the city by escaping to the great outdoors to discover our own idillic wilderness of fresh water and green forests in the shape of a summer festival. There is one festival in Europe that kicks this annual migration off : El Dorado.
El Dorado festival sets out to imagine what that mystical city would have looked like. Thousands of modern day like-minded explorers travel to the rolling green hills of Herefordshire in the west part of England to discover El Dorado. The festival is nestled in the grounds of Eastnor Castle with views out into the countryside. It’s the perfect setting to recharge and escape.
If the setting isn’t enough to lure you away from the confines of city life, then the lineup certainly will. Kool & the Gang, Todd Terje, and Andy C headline, while festival favorites like Horse Meat Disco, Shy FX and Mr Scruff aim to keep the party going.
