Turkish Silver (careful)
Memphis native, Elijah Poston is the front man of the band Grandpa Grew Trees. It’s hard to describe their sound without doing them a disservice. Sure it’s indie. But is it also rock? and perhaps a bit folk as well?
A perfect example of this is the first single off of their new album Songs for a Recent Lover. The single is called “Turkish Silver” and it goes from being delicately executed guitars to full on rock. Poston himself pitched the song to that end, warning that “if it hasn’t gotten loud, you haven’t heard the song yet.”
