Ease your way into that summer feeling with the new single from LA-based multi-instrumentalist, Kowloon
Kowloon is a musician and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. His debut album, ‘Come Over’, was written, performed, recorded and mixed in his home-studio in the industrial outskirts of the city. Taking inspiration from bands like The Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, and Sly Stone, Kowloon blends vintage synths, drum machines, and bubbling bass lines with washed-out vocals to create a light-hearted surf-rock sound that verges on psych-wave.
For his latest single, “Today,” Kowloon creates a psychedelic dream that harkens back to the sounds of late sixties California. Glassy guitar chords shimmer like the late afternoon sun above the pounding surf of drums and bass guitar. A breeze of a vocal seems to float up from a dream until it is over taken by a weeping lead guitar line.
