Pogo Puts Together A World Mix

We’ve been blogging about and following the progress of Nick Bertke, aka Pogo, for a little while now so you probably already know how brilliant he is at mixing video and sound. But now he’s decided to go on tour!

And not just any kind of tour… a world tour. AND! Not just any kind of world tour….

It’s the world remix project.

The idea is to take his skills at mixing sound clips from movies, and use it to mix sound bytes from real life. All the samples will come from life, and since he will be traveling the world, each mix should have a sound unique to the city he is in. It’s one of those ideas that sounds so positive, and cultural, and simple! that you’d wish you would have thought of it yourself. Of course you would need Nick’s mad mixing skills to execute…

Oh and another thing that makes this project so great is that he is giving the tracks away for free to protect the integrity of the music. The plan is to fund each remix on Kickstarter and with donations. Each location he goes to will have a Kickstater page and a cost associated with it. For donating you receive a gift unique to where he is on the tour. You can help support him and this project by donating on his Kickstarter profile and support his music by downloading or purchasing it on his website.

Here’s a sample of the first track from Johannesburg South Africa, the first stop on the tour:
