James Blake: Timeless

James Blake has graced us with another single off his upcoming album ‘Radio Silence’ this evening. ‘Timeless’ is your usual Blake fare; vocal loops, gritty drum kits, and Blake’s signature lofi Prophet ’08 filling out the lows. I think it does poor justice to Blake’s sound to hear snippets of Radio Silence, his albums are best listened to as a singular cohesive unit. But ‘Timeless’ offers more hints of what will surely be one of the most eclectic chart-toppers this year. Radio Silence will be Blake’s most ambitious album yet, with 18 tracks (one of which well over 20 minutes long) one has to wonder if Blake will be pressing them as a quadruple vinyl.

Until then, check out ‘Timeless’ below.
