Yvonne Moriel’s new single, “lofi” blends Jazz with a bit of chill hop electronic
Austrian saxophone player and composer Yvonne Moriel makes music that is hard to categorize. It is rooted in jazz but also combines elements of hip hop, lo-fi, and electronic. And in that way, she achieves the her goal of making instrumental music that can’t be placed in any one genre.
“lofi” is the second single off of her upcoming EP, Sweet Life (scheduled to be released on October 15th). When that kick drum comes in with a confidently strong beat only to be softened our by a sultry saxophone you really start to a sense of what Moriel is trying to do.
