Dutch Duo, Donna Blue, create a new psychedelic indie rock track that is dripping in 60s nostalgia

Dutch duo Donna Blue are Danique van Kesteren and Bart van Dalen. They make vintage-inspired indie that is fuelled by romance, nostalgia and strange dreams. What’s not to like about that?

Their sensual new single, “Fantasy Girl,” is the first taster of their bilingual (French/English) second album entitled, Into the Realm of Love. The album’s grainy, dreamlike sound plays out like an obscure vintage soundtrack and a modern-day siren call. The sound draws inspiration from film composers such as Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni and John Barry.

Donna Blue describe the lyrics of “Fantasy Girl” as a personification of “the illusive seductions of the online world. A place that is constantly inviting you to fall in love with a fantasy version of yourself, and of others.”

Into the Realm of Love is set to release on Snowstar Recordss in March next year. The release will be followed by an extensive European tour in Spring 2024 with the following dates already confirmed.
